The South Eastern European Partnership on Accountancy Development (SEEPAD) is a regional accountancy reform initiative comprised of the principal accounting and auditing associations in SEE (see Annex 1). The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the EU Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe sponsor and support the SEEPAD initiative and its accountancy reform efforts. The objectives of SEEPAD are also supported by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). SEEPAD was established in December 1999 and has held a series of working group meetings to lay the groundwork for further regional reform initiatives.
